Glasgow-born Peter was the first addition to the Dons' League 2-winning side in the summer of 2008 and quickly established himself as one of the squad's most influential players.

Naturally seen as the attacking replacement for Blackburn Rovers-bound Keith Andrews, Leven thrived on becoming the new driving force of the Dons midfield, combining a playmaker's role with his combative abilities while chipping in with some important goals as the Dons went close to achieving back-to-back promotions.

Peter came through the ranks at his beloved Glasgow Rangers, defying the odds to overcome a serious knee injury in the process, but found first team opportunities difficult to come by after turning professional at Ibrox.

He signed for Kilmarnock in 2004 and went on to make 75 appearances and score six goals in over three years with the Rugby Park club before making the break south of the border.

He signed for Chesterfield in the summer of 2007 on a free transfer and made 44 appearances for the League 2 outfit before switching to the Dons the following summer.

Asked to play a slightly deeper role following Paul Ince's return to Milton Keynes last summer, Peter will hope to reprise his more customary attacking position in the coming months under Karl Robinson, in a Dons midfield looking extremely strong.
