Glasgow-born Peter was the first addition to the Dons' League 2 title-winning squad when he joined on a free transfer from Chesterfield on July 1, 2008. He was Paul Ince's last signing before he moved to Blackburn Rovers.

He was a mainstay in the team during the 2008/9 season, bringing his own brand of drive and creativity to the midfield and chipping in with his fair share of goals too.

An energetic and busy playmaker, Peter came through the ranks at Glasgow Rangers, overcoming a serious knee injury in the process, but found first team opportunities difficult to come by at Ibrox.

He signed for Kilmarnock in 2004 and went on to make 75 appearances and score six goals in over three years with the Rugby Park club before making the break south of the border.

He signed for Chesterfield in the summer of 2007 on a free transfer and made 44 appearances for the League 2 outfit - including a big part in the Spireites 2-1 win at stadiummk that season.

Operating mainly in central midfield, Peter made a big impact on the Dons faithful with his consistent performances and will be keen to strike up a good relationship with boss Paul Ince - who he'll finally get the chance to work with, two years later than planned.
