David was born in Glasgow in 1981 and is a strong central defender, with Scottish Under-21 international honours to his name.
He began his career with SPL side Dundee United, making his debut for the Tangerines in May 2000, before going on to make 179 appearances for the Tannadice club before moving south of the border in 2007 to join Wycombe Wanderers.
He was instantly installed as club captain at Adams Park and quickly became a favourite with the Chairboys' fans, enjoying two excellent seasons with the Club, the highlight of which was winning promotion to League 1 at the end of the 2008/9 season.
At the end of his contract with Peter Taylor's team in July 2009, he was quickly snapped up by the Wanderers' Buckinghamshire neighbours on a free transfer.
