Having spent the entire summer of 2007 on trial with the club, Luke left an impression on manager Paul Ince big enough to earn himself a one-year contract at stadiummk.

After coming through the ranks and being subsequently released at Gillingham, Howell, 20, has a chance to make an impact in Milton Keynes with his high work rate and tireless midfield qualities. Having also operated at right-back when called upon this season, Luke's versatility has made him a valuable option to the squad.
