A cultured midfield player capable of setting the tempo for the entire team when on his A-game, Stephen is a Republic of Ireland international with a very promising future.

He joined the Dons on a permanent deal in the summer of 2009 following a successful loan spell from Wolverhampton Wanderers the previous season.

Dubliner Gleeson graduated from the Wolves Academy when he was awarded a three-year professional contract in 2006 and went on to enjoy several profitable loan spells to gain first team experience.

He spent three months on loan with Stockport County during the 2006/07 season and won his first full international cap in a friendly with Ecuador the following summer. After a brief spell with Hereford the following year, he rejoined the Hatters to help them win League 2 promotion through the Play-offs in 2008.

Gleeson's profitable time with County continued at the start of the following season, taking his tally to over 50 appearances for the Edgeley Park club, before returning to Molineux in January and subsequently joining the Dons in March.

Since arriving at stadiummk, Stephen has been a regular with the Republic of Ireland Under-21 side, winning 12 caps.
