Warrington-born midfielder Mark joined the Dons in July 2009 after three seasons as a professional with Crewe Alexandra.
A tall, composed central midfield player with an excellent passing range and ability to dictate play, Mark also possesses outstanding levels of stamina that allow him to cover a great deal of ground in defence.
Having come through the famed Crewe Academy, Mark was awarded his first professional contract in 2006, before being sent out on loan to non-league Leigh RMI early in that season to gain first team experience.
After a handful of appearances in his first two seasons at Gresty Road, Mark came to the fore with the Railwaymen under Gudjon Thodarson during the 2008/9 season, making 23 appearances at the heart of the midfield and earning rave reviews for his industrious, energetic performances.
