Versatile defender Dan joined the Dons on a free transfer from Crewe Alexandra in July 2009 after 18 months with the Gresty Road club.

Born in London in 1983 and a product of the Chelsea Academy, he is comfortable in a variety of positions throughout defence and midfield, but is probably best known as an athletic and composed right-back.

After graduating from the youth programme at Stamford Bridge, Dan left the London club in 2005 to join then-Blue Square Premier side Exeter City in search of first team football.

He quickly established himself as the Grecian's first-choice right back and as one of the leading defenders outside the Football League, making 49 appearances for the Devonians and collecting one cap for the England C team, before joining the Railwaymen at the end of the 2006/7 season.

While at Crewe, Dan made 84 appearances including a number of outstanding performances at right and central midfield, proving his ability to adapt quickly to new positions.
