Frenchman Doumbe joined the Dons in August 2009 and was one of four signings made by the Club 24 hours before the season's opening fixture.

A pacy and strong central defender, Mathias Kouo-Doumbe, to give him his full name, started his career with French giants Paris St Germain before joining Hibernian in October 2001, where he established himself at the heart of the Hibs defence.

While at Easter Road he forged a strong relationship with manager Bobby Williamson, so when the former Scotland international was handed the reigns at Plymouth, it came as little surprise that Mat followed him south of the border in June 2004.

Having made the switch to Home Park, Doumbe quickly earned the favour of the Green Army, and by the start of the 2008/9 season he was the Devon club's longest serving player.

However, last season was a mixed campaign for Mathias as Argyle fought hard to eventually beat the drop from the Championship, with most of his season spent at right-back.

In total, Mat's five years at Plymouth resulted in a total of 142 appearances and four goals, demonstrating his consistency and strength in the centre half berth.
