OLNEY KIDS GO POW!

Posted on: Wed 07 Jul 2010

Year 2 pupils from Olney Infant School had a visit from the MK Dons SET team recently to support their book week initiative.

Dons Community Ambassador Paul Mitchell was joined by coaches from the education team in a fun reading session with the youngsters who enjoyed an interactive football themed session.

The 90 pupils, all dressed as their favourite book characters, got a chance to meet the team and chat about why reading is important.

These sessions use the theme of football to inspire a love of reading and support the literacy curriculum in schools as part of the Sport and Education Trust's Play on Words (POW) literacy programme; run in partnership with Milton Keynes Council Extended Services.
