GROUNDS FOR CELEBRATION AT THE EMIRATES

Posted on: Thu 13 Aug 2009

Thursday July 9th saw Double Club Dons FC from The Radcliffe School in Wolverton enjoy a successful away day against Arsenal Double Club FC. The venue for this exciting fixture was Islington Media and Arts School in North London, just a stone's throw from the Gunners' Emirates Stadium.

The Dons, proudly sporting the Club's kit lived up to the pre-match hype by securing themselves an early lead and maintained their performance throughout the half, going in at the break with an impressive 4 - 0 scoreline. The Dons continued to dominate the Arsenal Double Club in the second period and came away from the match at full-time with a magnificent 5-0 victory.

The team continued their celebration by visiting the Emirates Stadium itself, where they were warmly received by their hosts and were treated to a full stadium tour, which included visiting the museum and the club shop for last minute souvenirs! Reflecting on her team's performance, manager Carol Fox commented: "We were all very proud of the way that the boys conducted themselves, they are a credit to their school, their parents and to MK Dons. Experiences like this are invaluable to these children and something they will remember forever, as well as reinforcing the power of football as a tool for developing education."
