The end of another school year has seen 224 learning champions pass through the doors of the Playing for Success Centre. Successful graduates have participated in many exciting sessions, including making fresh fruit smoothies with MK Dons top goal scorer Aaron Wilbrham and the physio team.
Many of the learners met Paul Mitchell, Community Ambassador, on their stadium tour, where he let them into a few secrets about the first team dressing room.
Mikey Burrows, from Heart FM, called in to one of the media sessions where he was interviewed by the learners and chatted about his job. MK Dons Press Officer, Anthony Herlihy, impressed them with his blankety blankety cheque book and pen.
One very lucky group starred in Dons World replacing Andy 'Anchorman' Gardner and Paul Mitchell as the presenters and discussed tactics for the forth coming match.
Many other visitors from the club attended sessions, giving support to the learners and sharing their expertise in the different roles that they have within the club.
The learning champions used lots of different technology during their time at the stadium including programming Lego Robots to follow a set course.
A definite favourite with most of the learners was Super Hero week, where they all got to write and star in their own super hero films. Never have so many super hero's been seen in one place before!
These are some of the activities that form part of the Playing for Success programme that is provided in the after school study support centre known as Learning@thecowshed.
