The first 48 children to attend the 'Playing for Success' programme at The Dons new state-of-the-art study centre have celebrated their graduation in an exclusive VIP ceremony at stadiummk.

The children, who were chosen by their schools to attend the innovative after-school sessions, were from four local primary schools; Water Hall Primary, Eaton Mill Primary, Rickley Junior School and Chestnuts Primary School.

During the 10-week course the kids have been involved in a number of exciting activities including a behind-the-scenes stadium tour, film-making session, 3D poetry and fantasy football.

The centre, known as Learning@thecowshed, is a first for Milton Keynes and is part of the highly successful Playing for Success initiative which focuses on raising children's achievement in literacy, numeracy and ICT.

Following the success of the pilot the centre, which is funded in partnership between MK Dons Football Club, Milton Keynes Council & The Department for Children, Families & Schools (DCSF), will be working with children and young people from Milton Keynes schools on four days per week from the Spring term.
