Stephen Gleeson has revealed stern words were exchanged after Tuesday night's defeat Stevenage and he believes Sheffield Wednesday will feel the backlash.
The Dons were due to play Wednesday this weekend but Gary Megson's side instead will turn their attentions to their FA Cup with Budweiser Fourth Round contest at Blackpool. As a result the big League 1 clash between the two promotion contenders was moved to Tuesday 31st January, kick-off 7.45pm.
Without a game this weekend, the Dons will have a seven day build up to the game whereas Wednesday will have a three day turnaround. Dons midfielder Gleeson says the side will be reflecting on what went wrong in the 4-2 loss at Stevenage, and will be going all out to make amends when Wednesday come to town.
Speaking exclusively to the reddot programme for Tuesday's game Gleeson, in an honest and bold mood, said the Dons' most recent League form was simply not good enough.
The 23-year-old said: "After the Stevenage game there were a lot harsh words said in the dressing room which probably needed to be said. For three halves over two games we haven't turned up - the second half against Notts County and the two halves against Stevenage - and we haven't rolled up our sleeves and dug in.
"It's a challenging time for us but we are a tight group and pull through together. We have been brought back down to earth - in two games we have got a point and that's not acceptable."
With the Dons and Wednesday currently occupying two of the top six places the game on Tuesday night is set to be a promotion six-pointer, and Gleeson has the game down as a must-win.
He said: "We're a really tight group and we all want to get out of this league. We can speak honestly to each other because we know we all care about the Club and getting into the Championship.
