MK Dons manager Karl Robinson has confirmed that Jemal Johnson has been restored to the first team squad and could return to action against Swindon this weekend.
The American-born forward recently returned from a trial period in the United States with MLS sides DC United and Kansas City Wizards, having been offered the chance to find a new club.
But following constructive talks with his manager and an impressive return to training on Friday, Johnson will be given the chance to resurrect his Dons career.
Robinson said: "I had an honest and open discussion with JJ, the finer details of which will remain private, and have agreed to re-integrate him into the first team environment.
"It remains to be seen what happens in the long term, but for now he will be given the chance to show he wants to be part of what we are building here.
"As with all the players at this Football Club, their application to training and dedication to the shirt is of the utmost importance."
Johnson, 24, rejoined the Dons a year ago after briefly departing stadiummk upon the expiration of his previous contract.
Since joining the Club in August 2007, the former Wolves and Blackburn forward made 103 appearances and scored 15 goals, before spending the back end of last season on loan at Stockport County.
Johnson has been issued with the No.28 shirt following his re-introduction to the squad and will be available for selection in Saturday's npower League 1 clash with Swindon Town at stadiummk.
