Sam Baldock and Jabo Ibehre were both on target as an MK Dons XI beat Aylesbury FC in a pre-season friendly at Haywood Way.
Baldock scored a goal in each period and Ibehre an excellent first-half header in an entertaining Friday-night workout for both sides, striker Charlie Mpi replying for the hosts.
Striker Aaron Wilbraham also saw his first action of pre-season as a second-half substitute for impressive youngster Igor Coronado, coming through 40 minutes unscathed following a minor back injury.
Coronado's cameo was one of several highlights for the young players involved - the 18-year-old Brazilian, handed an extension to his apprenticeship this summer, setting up the first two goals before fellow youth team prospect Awadh Ahmed laid on Baldock's second.

Sam Baldock races through to score the Dons' first. |
A Dons side with a much-changed look about it following Tuesday's win at Kettering took some time to gel in the opening exchanges. Youth team regulars Coronado and Jordan Browne were both in from the start while the likes of Luke Howell, Mark Carrington and Daniel Powell were given the chance to get match minutes in midfield.
It was the home side that carved out the first decent opening, with Dons 'keeper Willy Gueret forced to race out at Mpi's feet following a dangerous Gareth Price throughball.
But it merely stirred the Dons' juices as the visitors drew Aylesbury onto them before breaking with rapier-like urgency on 12 minutes.
Price's right-wing corner caused a stir in the box as Gueret appealed for a foul, but as the clearance was hooked to safety, Baldock chested into Coronado's path before peeling away at a sprint. Spoilt for choice between his provider and Ibehre, Coronado sent Baldock in the clear and the finish was academic.

Mark Carrington looks on as Jabo Ibehre holds up. |
Baldock was clearly in the mood, drawing a brace of good saves from Steve Smith before half-time, the second a particularly well-crafted effort after juggling superbly over Marcus Gross on the edge of the box.
Aylesbury certainly hadn't been swept aside - Liam Smyth going close with a header from another Price corner before being carried off following a clash with Ibehre.
But the Dons powered into a two-goal lead when Carrington worked a short corner allowing Coronado to cross and Ibehre rose unmarked to power a header past Smith.
Aylesbury's endeavours had deserved something to show at the break and it duly arrived shortly before the whistle, though not without an element of fortune. Greg Williams did superbly to head down a deep cross from the right and, as Gueret and Carrington collided, Mpi stooped to guide the ball home.

Aaron Wilbraham made his return in the second half. |
With the scores tight, the second half was predictably open as the Dons set about trying to re-exert their authority and Aylesbury sought the parity that would have proved a huge shot in the arm.
Wilbraham's introduction seven minutes after the break added some more muscle in attack, but it was Baldock continuing to look the likeliest - curling just wide after coming short for a corner from the right and denied brilliantly by Smith after being put through by Howell.
The lively Price, formerly on the books for Wycombe Wanderers, continued to provide a useful outlet for Aylesbury down the right, but having shown a great turn to pace to get in behind halfway through the half, lacked the composure to find the target.

Igor Coronado provided two assists in the first half. |
Howell's replacement with 20 minutes to go gave Wilbraham the chance to work on his fitness in a deeper midfield role, but also brought about Ahmed's introduction. The newly-inducted first-year apprentice waited barely two minutes to make an impact.
Collecting a Wilbraham pass down the right, the youngster slid a perfectly-weight ball into the inside-right channel and Baldock raced through to provide the accomplished finish.
Aylesbury's efforts hardly deserved to see the scoreline get ugly, but they had their goalkeeper to thank that the Dons didn't race off into the night as he twice foiled Carrington and denied Baldock a hat-trick in the closing stages.
Many of the youngsters involved now face the prospect of two games in as many days as part of a Dons XI at Newport Pagnell on Saturday, while the majority of the pros turn their attention to West Ham on Wednesday - the first home game of pre-season and when business really starts to pick up.
