MK Dons have confirmed their squad numbers for the forthcoming 2010/11 season, with home-grown striker Sam Baldock handed the coveted No.10 jersey.
Midfielder Dietmar Hamann will sport the No.16 shirt he wore with such distinction for Germany and Liverpool, while goalkeeper David Martin gets the No.1, with rivals Willy Gueret and Stuart Searle opting to stick with their existing numbers of 12 and 17 respectively.
Of the other new arrivals in Karl Robinson's squad, Columbian winger Angelo Balanta will wear No.11, big Scottish defender Gary MacKenzie the No.5 and tricky wide-man Lewis Guy the No.14.
It's Baldock's switch to 10 that will draw the most attention among Dons supporters, ahead of a big season for a player fans see as 'one of their own'. Baldock has moved from 36, to 15, to 11 in recent campaigns, but will this term wear a number made famous by some the game's greatest ever matchwinners.
Baldock made a huge impact in his breakthrough season under Roberto Di Matteo two years ago, scoring 13 goals in 44 appearances, but saw injury disrupt last term, while still managing to reach double figures from 28 games. Now 21, Baldock will be hoping for big things from the coming campaign.
Elsewhere it's largely as you were for Robinson's squad - Player of the Year Luke Chadwick sticking with his No.26, midfielder Peter Leven starting his third season in No.22 and midfielder Mark Carrington in No.13.
