WOODY TO MAKE BEES TRIP

Posted on: Tue 16 Mar 2010

Brentford v MK Dons

Dons manager Paul Ince expects to have Danny Woodards fit for the weekend trip to Brentford as his side aim to increase the pressure on League 1's top six.

Full-back Woodards limped out of the 2-1 win over Swindon Town on Tuesday after just 18 minutes, having sustained a groin injury during the opening stages of the game.

But further diagnosis has revealed no major damage for the 26-year-old defender, who could make an immediate return to action against the Bees at Griffin Park.

Ince confirmed on Thursday: "Danny's ok, he thought he'd pulled something in his adductor region, but we've spoken to Simon and we believe now that it was just a nerve. He should be fine."

Ince may be forced into a reshuffle elsewhere in his backline with James Tunnicliffe having played the final game of his month-long loan spell from Brighton in midweek.

Frenchman Mathias Doumbe came off the bench to make his first appearance in six weeks against Swindon, having successfully recovered from groin trouble, while Sean O'Hanlon is also nearing full fitness after his long injury lay-off.

Midfielder Stephen Gleeson (ankle) and striker Sam Baldock (knee) will both be assessed before the weekend, but defender Darren Powell is still sidelined.

Andy Scott

Brentford boss Andy Scott should have a near fully-fit squad to choose from for Saturday's game.

Brentford boss Andy Scott will choose from a near fully-fit squad as his side look to consolidate their mid-table position. Goalkeeper Nikki Bull is the Bees' only long-term absentee with a shoulder injury.

The Griffin Park outfit took a hugely creditable point at Elland Road against promotion-chasers Leeds in their last outing, adopting a somewhat defensive approach in West Yorkshire.

But in front of their own fans for the first time in four weeks, Brentford can be expected to show a lot more ambition against the Dons, with Charlie MacDonald - scorer of the winner when the sides met at stadiummk in December - and Ben Strevens expected to lead the attack.

Advance tickets for Saturday's trip to Brentford are on sale from the MK Dons Online Ticket Service, over the phone on 01908 622900, from the MK Dons Box Office at stadiummk and the Box Office on Crown Walk at thecentre:mk.

Advance tickets available until 6.00pm on Friday or from Griffin Park on the day of the game.
