Dons manager Paul Ince could be boosted by returns for Danny Swailes and Jemal Johnson for this weekend's League 1 trip to Charlton.

The pair have recovered from illness to resume training today (Thursday) and could be in contention to make the squad for Saturday's game at The Valley.

Having started his first league game in nearly 15 months in the home win over Bristol Rovers, Swailes missed both last week's win over his old club Macclesfield and Tuesday's victory over Northampton.

Johnson was also set to return from a calf problem last weekend before illness saw him laid low for the early part of the week.

But with both players now given the all-clear to return to the squad, Ince is hoping it can be the start of an injury-free spell.

He said: "Swaz has come back today and JJ has also trained after his illness earlier this week, but Danny Woodards hasn't come back yet.

"It's a bit stop start at the moment, we're getting people back for two weeks and then they're picking up injuries or illness so we've not been able to get that full squad of bodies out there.

"With the cup games coming up and the Christmas period coming up, we've got to get people back as soon as possible. And I don't just mean back training, I mean back and at the same tempo as the rest of the lads."
