ALBY: BEST GOAL OF MY CAREER
MK Dons striker Aaron Wilbraham has labelled his wonder-goal against Northampton the best of his career.
The 30-year-old front-man brought stadiummk to its feet on Tuesday night with his sixth-minute strike in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy - one of the finest goals scored at the home of the Dons since the club moved there in 2007.
Controlling Lewis Gobern's cross from the right, the Cowshed favourite, captaining the team in Dean Lewington's absence, turned Cobblers defender Dean Beckwith before crashing a majestic volley past 'keeper Chris Dunn.
And the former Hull City and Stockport striker says he's never bagged a better goal in his 12 years as a professional.
He told MK Dons Player: "That's probably the best goal I've ever scored to be honest. I missed a good chance from a similar situation on Saturday after a good first touch and it was because I took my eye off it too early.
"With this one, as soon as it went up in the air I just concentrated on keeping my eye on it right onto my foot and, luckily for me, it went across the 'keeper and in.
"It was fizzed in by Lewis and when I took the touch I knew where it had gone but I don't think the defender did. From there it was a matter of keeping an eye on it and trusting my technique.
"As soon as I struck it I knew it was in, so it was a great feeling to see it in the back of the net."

Wilbraham also praised the players who came into a much-changed Dons side against their local rivals, particularly two-goal Sam Baldock, as Paul Ince's team advanced to Saturday's area semi-final draw with a club record sixth straight home win.
It was a team boasting six changes from the weekend FA Cup win over Macclesfield and Wilbraham says the spirit within the camp allows for such a seamless transition.
He said: "There's no bitterness between the players, everyone wants each other to do well when they play and there were a few lads who came in on Tuesday, like Luke Howell, Mark Carrington and Sol Davis, who came in and did a great job.
"Sam Baldock really took his chance tonight as well. We've got some good strikers at this club and it's up to people to take their chances when they come along and Sam has done that."
