GLEESON IN EIRE U-21 SQUAD

Posted on: Tue 06 Oct 2009

Dons midfielder Stephen Gleeson has again been included in the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad for their Euro Championship Qualification double-header this month.

Don Givens' side will host Georgia in Dublin on Friday 9th October before travelling to Waterford to host Switzerland four days later.

The call-up will see Stephen miss the Dons' home game against Walsall on Saturday 10th October, but he should return for the visit of Gillingham a week later.

Along with Ipswich Town's Owen Garvan, Gleeson is the most-capped member of Givens' squad and stands to make his 12th and 13th Under-21 appearances if selected for the two games. The first of the two qualifiers will take place in the Dons midfielder's home town of Tallaght.
