Dons midfielder Stephen Gleeson was in international action for Republic of Ireland Under-21s on Wednesday as they picked up a Euro qualification point in Estonia.
Don Givens' young side drew 1-1 with their Estonian counterparts in Tallinn in their second qualifying game for the 2011 UEFA Under-21 Championship, but were left to rue a host of missed chances to come away with a win.
Playmaker Gleeson, among the most experienced members of the squad, played the entire 90 minutes to win his 11th Under-21 cap and was influential in an Irish midfield that dominated proceedings.
Sikeborg IF striker Kaimar Saag gave Estonia the perfect start after four minutes with the opening goal, but the Irish hit back within three minutes through Celtic striker Cillian Sheridan.
Sheridan, currently on loan with Plymouth, went on to strike the woodwork twice later in the game, while Ipswich midfielder Owen Garvan also hit the crossbar with a well-placed free-kick.
The point was a first of the campaign for Givens' young side, while Estonia climb to the top of Group 2 of UEFA Championship Qualification with one win and one draw.
Stephen will return to Milton Keynes in the next two days and join up with his team-mates to train ahead of Monday's League 1 clash with Norwich City.
The Republic's next qualifying fixture will be at home to Georgia on Friday 9th October.
