MK Dons' Johnstone's Paint Trophy second round tie against Southend United has been confirmed to take place on Tuesday 6th October, kick-off 7.00pm.

The Dons were handed a home game against the Shrimpers in Saturday's draw on Soccer AM after dispatching League 2 side Dagenham & Redbridge in the first round a week ago.

While ticket arrangements are yet to be confirmed, the two clubs have agreed on the early kick-off time in keeping with the Football League's drive to encourage a healthy family attendance.

The Dons hosted the second biggest first round attendance in the competition when nearly 5,000 saw their 3-1 win over the Daggers, and the MK Army are sure to be right behind Paul Ince's men against the Shrimpers, as their quest to regain the trophy they won in 2008 continues.
