CUMMINGS LOAN EXTENDED

Posted on: Mon 05 Jan 2009

Milton Keynes Dons FC has reached an agreement with Chelsea to extend defender Shaun Cummings' loan until the end of the current season.

Shaun was due to return to Stamford Bridge on January 4, but will now see out the remainder of the 2008/09 campaign with Roberto Di Matteo's League 1 high-fliers.

The 19-year-old full-back has been a mainstay in the Dons defence since arriving from West London in August, making 22 appearances in all competitions.

His performances have gone from strength to strength in recent months and he has been among the standout performers in the Dons' run of 10 wins from their last 11 league games.

Although Shaun has been regularly utilised in his preferred position of right-back, he is capable of playing in a number of positions across midfield or even in attack.

The extension of his loan will take effect from January 5 and take him up to the final game of the 2008/09 season.
