Pantomime star Henry Winkler is planning on putting his time in Milton Keynes to good use - by trying out for the MK Dons!

American screen legend Henry, who stars as Captain Hook in Peter Pan at Milton Keynes Theatre this Christmas, was welcomed to the city by Dons Chairman Pete Winkelman this week, and presented with his very own Dons shirt to mark his visit to MK.

Henry, along with co-stars Louisa Lytton, Andy Ford and the entire Peter Pan cast, will become part of the MK Army at stadiummk next Tuesday when the Dons take on Hereford United in League 1.

But the Happy Days star, 63, has not yet given up hope of making the squad for the game against the Bulls!

He said: "I can't wait to come to the game on Tuesday, I was actually just speaking to Louisa and she's real excited about it too.

"As a matter of fact, one of the reasons I decided to do the pantomime here in Milton Keynes was to try out for the team!

"The last time I kicked a ball was . . . erm . . . never. But I do know the rule that you're not allowed to touch it with your hands!"

Dons Chairman Pete said: "It was absolutely fantastic to meet Henry and it's an honour for Milton Keynes to be welcoming such a superstar for this year's pantomime.

"I can't wait to welcome the cast to stadiummk next week, it'll be a real pleasure to have them behind the team."
