DRISSA JOINS ROBINS ON LOAN
Dons defender Drissa Diallo has today (Thursday) joined Cheltenham Town on a one-month loan deal.
The 35-year-old Guinea international heads to Whaddon Road to link up with former Dons manager Martin Allen, who stepped into the Robins top job earlier this week.
It is hoped the spell on loan will help Drissa to get much-needed match time under his belt after he successfully recovered from shoulder surgery this summer.
It was Martin Allen that brought Drissa to Milton Keynes from Sheffield Wednesday a little over two years ago and the new Cheltenham boss has moved quickly to add the experienced defender to his ranks.
Drissa told mkdons.com: "It's a good opportunity for me and just what I needed really.
"I missed pre-season because of my injury and when you have a new manager to play for that can be very frustrating.
"I've been working hard to get fit but you need regular football to really get your fitness back, and I have the chance to do that now.
"I know Martin Allen well and he knows my strengths too so I'm looking forward to working with him again."
Subject to the completion of his registration, Drissa will be available for Cheltenham's League 1 trip to Millwall this Saturday.
