Milton Keynes Dons FC can today (Thursday) confirm that an agreement has been reached with Blackburn Rovers for the transfer of Keith Andrews.

Everyone at Milton Keynes Dons would like to recognise Keith's huge contribution to the Club, both on and off the pitch, in the two years he has been in Milton Keynes.

The Dubliner moves to Ewood Park on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee, and will link-up with former Dons manager Paul Ince at the Premier League club.

After joining the Dons in August 2006, Keith made 87 appearances and scored 21 goals on his way to becoming the Club's most successful ever captain.

He played a starring role in last season's League 2 and Johnstone's Paint Trophy Double and will go down in history as the captain to lift the Club's first piece of silverware on its maiden Wembley appearance. Keith was also named the League 2 Footballer of the Year after arguably the best season of his career.

While disappointed to lose our Club captain, we understand that the chance for Keith to test himself in the greatest league in the world is too good to ignore.

We wish Keith every success in his future career and he will always be welcomed back to stadiummk, either as a player of a friend of the Club.
