Milton Keynes Dons have today (Monday) secured the loan capture of Chelsea youngster Shaun Cummings.

The 19-year-old defender joins the Dons one an initial one-month deal with a view to extending his stay at stadiummk further into the season.

Born in Hammersmith, Shaun has been with Chelsea from the age of 12 and is currently in his fourth year with the 2008 Champions League finalists. He was the Blues' leading appearance-maker at reserve level last season - playing 18 games and scoring once.

Having started out as a striker, Shaun athleticism and versatility have also seen him operate both wide in midfield or at full-back in his emerging career.

He joins the Dons having played 45 minutes of last Wednesday's friendly win over Watford and will be part of Roberto Di Matteo's squad for the League 1 opener at Leicester City on Saturday.
