Dons defender Drissa Diallo has today signed a one-year contract extension at stadiummk.

Having spent two seasons with the Dons after signing in June 2006, the vastly-experienced 35-year-old has now agreed terms to stay with Paul Ince's League 2 Champions until June 2009.

Diallo made 35 appearances and scored two goals in the Dons' Double-winning season, proving an important part of the defensive unit both at centre-half and full-back.

A shoulder injury robbed the former Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday man of a chance to be part of the season's climax. But his contribution to the Club's historic season was huge as Ince's men secured promotion to League 1 and the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at Wembley.

Now well on the road to recovery following a successful operation, the former Guinea international can look forward to another successful season with the Dons in League 1.
