GUERET SETS SIGHTS HIGH
Dons goalkeeper Willy Gueret says there's no reason why Paul Ince's team can't aim for back-to-back promotions next season.
Having won both the League 2 title and the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in Ince's first season with the Club, the Dons head for League 1 with genuine ambitions of fighting for a place in the Championship.
It'll be no easy task for Gueret and his team mates, who will have to overcome the likes of Leeds United, Leicester City and Colchester United if they're to continue their climb up the Football League.
But the French custodian, who has played in both divisions, says similar application and team spirit will stand them in good stead.
He said: "I've got a good feeling about next year because we've got a good squad for that division and if we play with the same confidence and to the same standards we've been playing at it's going to be another good year.
"This year we managed to keep 23 clean sheets. If we make 15 next season we'll be challenging for promotion, if we make 20 I think we'll definitely be up.
"The team spirit in the past year has been outstanding, it's been one of the biggest reasons why we have done so well.
"It's going to be important again next season in a different division with a different challenge. Things might not always go our way and we'll need to call on that spirit to help us out of trouble."
But with the start of the new season still more than two months away, Willy says he'll only start to seriously think about football when he returns for pre-season.
He said: "I haven't been thinking about it too much to be honest, I'm enjoying my break and we'll see how I feel when we come back for pre-season.
"I'm trying not to think too much about football and I'm enjoying doing the things I can't normally do during the season!"
