Milton Keynes Dons FC has today (Friday) completed the signing of former Chelsea and Norway striker Tore Andre Flo.

Flo, 35, joins the Dons on a contract up to the end of the 2008/09 season, and links up with two of his former Blues team-mates - Dons manager Roberto Di Matteo and number two Eddie Newton.

The 6ft 4in frontman had retired from football in March following a spell with Leeds United, but returns to the game to provide the Dons with another experienced attacking option for the remainder of the season.

Dons boss Di Matteo said: "We were always looking to get one more striker in with some different qualities and Tore's got a bit of experience as well so hopefully he will be a big hit.

"I hope he's going to contribute to the team with his experience and his vision, but at the end of the day he's a striker so we hope he's going to score loads of goals."

Flo began his career in his native Norway with Sogndal, Tromso and Brann before Ruud Gullit paid £300,000 to take him to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2007.

Having scored on his debut in a defeat to Coventry City, Flo hit 15 goals during his first season in England, helping guide Chelsea to both the League Cup and the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1998.

He would go on to score 50 goals in 169 appearances for the Blues, including a memorable double against Barcelona in 2000, during the club's first ever Champions League campaign.

Having joined Rangers for £12 million in November 2000, Flo remains the most expensive Norwegian footballer of all time and he went on fire 38 goals in 72 appearances in two seasons with the Glasgow club.

He spent a season with Sunderland, who paid in the region of £7 million for his services, between 2002 and 2003, before moving to Italy to join Serie A side Siena for two years.

Flo returned to Norway to join Valerenga in July 2005 and spent a season with the Oslo club before joining Leeds in January 2007.

After scoring four goals in 24 appearances for the Yorkshire giants, Flo announced his retirement from the game in March 2008.

He trained briefly with the Dons in the summer in order to prepare for the recent Masters Finals, in which he represented Chelsea, but now returns to the game on a full-time basis to assist the Dons in their League 1 challenge.
