Izale McLeodIzale McLeod continued his quest to dominate the goal of the season competition as he hit another fantastic goal as the Dons made it three wins in a row.

After doubling the Dons lead following and own goal from Mike Williamson, McLeod smashed a superb third three minutes from time to send the Dons four points clear of promotion rivals Wycombe.

McLeod made it 16 goals for the season, including seven in his last six games, and condemned the Chairboys to a fourth away defeat in five despite pulling a goal back through Tommy Mooney. Reduced to 10 men following the dismissal of Tommy Doherty, it proved a miserable afternoon for Wanderers as the Dons took the Bucks derby spoils.

Forced into a reshuffle due to Sean O'Hanlon's suspension, Martin Allen shifted Drissa Diallo to centre-half and moved Gareth Edds to right back and the Australian was right in the thick of it from the first whistle. Shepherding a ball into touch down the right he eased Matt Bloomfield away from the ball sending the Wycombe midfielder skidding into the advertising boards. The away bench was straight up to tend to their seemingly unconscious number 10 and Mooney was booked for his protests.

Dean Lewington had started the game in his usual, uncompromising manner and after several bombarding runs down the left he delivered the cross that opened that opened the scoring on 17 minutes. Keith Andrews met it on the volley without making the contact he would have liked, but Chairboys 'keeper Jamie Young was left helpless and it flicked off Williamson and into the net.

Keith AndrewsAllen's men were well on top and Clive Platt went close from another Lewington cross, but Wycombe should have drawn level when Will Antwi wasted a free header from Stefan Oakes' free-kick.

Typically, the Dons raced down the other end and made them pay the price. With a disguised pass Ronaldinho might have been proud of, Aaron Wilbraham slipped McLeod in behind Williamson, who tripped the Dons striker as he desperately tried to clear. McLeod got up, dusted himself off and calmly rolled home the spot-kick.

Having managed to shake off a shoulder injury, Jermaine Easter's threat was always apparent and on 31 minutes, he helped Paul Lambert's side hit back. Robbing Drissa Diallo on the left corner of the penalty area, Easter was aware enough to pick out Mooney as the Dons defence scrambled to close him down. Mooney made no mistake, taking a touch before slotting under Lee Harper.

Lewington's man-of-the-match perofrmance continued with a series of marauding runs down the left and as the game became a midfield battle, he shone like a beacon. Kevin Betsy got no joy out of him down the right so he switched to the left and got little more from Edds, his only real contribution a fierce right foot shot beaten away by Harper. As if rising to the challenge set by the man he had marked so tightly, Lewington went on a run of his own and crashed a 30-yard drive off the crossbar.

Dean LewingtonDoherty's rush of blood with 10 minutes to go looked to have ended the game as a contest, picking up a second yellow for dissent having already been booked for backchat in the first half. But in spite of their numerical disadvantage, Easter almost squared the game when he met Ikechi Anya's cross but saw his header hit the post.

Constantly pulled up by the assistant's flag, McLeod might have been getting frustrated but he released every ounce of it with yet another wonder goal with three minutes to go. Cutting in off his favoured left-hand channel, he unleashed a stunning right-foot drive from 25-yards that nestled inside the far post.
