A scorching late winner from skipper Dean Lewington gave the Dons their third straight home win on the trot at the hands of Bradford City.
His 89th minute left footer saw them take a deserved three points after completely dominating proceedings from start to finish.
MK Dons boss Danny Wilson made a few changes to his side following the 5-0 defeat at Huddersfield Town. Out went Matt Baker, Paul Mitchell and Ben Chorley, and in came Ricardo Batista, Filipe Morais, pictured left, and Trent McClenahan.
But a late change saw Baker pull on his kit to play after Batista had picked up an injury in the pre-match warm-up.
On a bitterly cold and windy but sunny afternoon, MK Dons started brightly. They had a dangerous attack after just 30 seconds when Filipe Morais got down the left flank and crossed into the middle for Bantams centre-half David Wetherall to clear under pressure.
Mark Bridge-Wilkinson was not far away with a free-kick from distance which beat the Dons defensive wall but flew just wide of Baker's left hand upright on five minutes.
The Dons had another great chance on eight minutes when Izale McLeod flicked the ball on for Scott Taylor to go one-on-one with the keeper, but the speed of Bradford centre-half Damian Stewart got him back in time to make a brilliant last-ditch tackle and snuff out Taylor's shot.
Agony for the Dons on 15 minutes when a good move down the right saw Small lay the all into the path of Edds, who cracked a rising shot which took a deflection off Wetherall, that vital touch taking it over Donovan Rickett's head and the crossbar.
Former Don Darren Holloway made a brilliant headed clearance to turn behind Small's long hanging cross from the right with Morais lurking behind him on 24 minutes.
The Dons had been enjoying much of the play during the first half, but with the strong wind behind them being a real factor, they were desperately looking to establish a lead to take into the second half, when Bradford would then enjoy that undoubted advantage.
Ricketts did well to hold onto a low swerving effort from McLeod from the edge of the area on 36 minutes as Taylor was steaming in for any possibly rebound.
A good turn and shot from Steven Schumacher was dragged just wide on 40 minutes as Bradford showed they could create chances of their own.
And on 41 minutes McLeod had a chance when he was put in down the right channel, but
an unkind bounce didn't help him as he shinned an effort well high and wide.
Bradford had the ball in the net on the stroke of half time when Mark Bower headed home Bridge-Wilkinson's corner from the right, but referee Phil Joslin ruled out the effort for a foul on Dons keeper Matt Baker.
Half-time: MK Dons 0 Bradford City 0
The Dons were dealt a massive blow at half-time. With Baker having taken that knock just prior to the interval, he was helped off the pitch, and was forced to retire injured. And with no sub keeper on the bench, the gloves were handed to substitute striker Aaron Wilbraham.
Ricketts kept out a vicious right-footed volley from Morais on 48 minutes. And seconds later was equal to a swerving shot from McLeod.
Wilson made a second change on 53 minutes, with Nicky Rizzo coming on for Wade Small.
GOAL: The Dons took the lead on 59 minutes. Morais got down the right and sent over a cross-shot, which clipped the woodwork and bounced back out to Ben Harding, who rifled a low shot through a crowd into the goal from eight yards.
Wilson made an immediate change by taking off Taylor and throwing on Clive Platt.
A shout for a Dons penalty was waved away by Mr Joslin on 62 minutes as McLeod went down heavily under a challenge from Bower.
And seconds later Ricketts made a great save at the feet of Platt, who had turned McLeod's cross from the left at goal from less than a yard out.
GOAL: On 65 minutes Bradford levelled. Bridge-Wilkinson swung in a corner, and after a lengthy goalmouth scramble veteran striker Steve Claridge headed home from close range.
A quick break from the Dons saw the ball shipped from left to right, finding Morais in space just inside the box, but the winger's powerful snap-shot found the side-netting on 67 minutes.
A ball into the box found Partridge, pictured above left, three yards out on 69 minutes, but he was tackled in the act of shooting and the chance went begging.
McLeod was then booked on 69 minutes for arguing over a free-kick decision.
McLeod had a shot from a tight angle deflected wide on 75 minutes in a bid to force a winner which their performance merited. And from the resulting corner Edds headed over with the keeper grounded.
Edds then smacked a right footed piledriver from the edge of the box on 76 minutes which Ricketts produced a breathtaking save to his left to keep out.
Ricketts made a good claim under pressure from McLeod to hang onto Platt's volley on 79 minutes as the Dons continued to look stronger.
Cadamarteri and Partridge both picked up yellow cards for pushing and shoving each other at a Dons free-kick on 81 minutes.
And from that very free-kick Edds had a shot charged down and Harding volleyed inches wide with Ricketts beaten.
Bradford made a double change on 86 minutes, throwing on Joe Brown and Joe Colbeck for Claridge and Owen Morrison.
GOAL: The Dons snatched the winner on 89 minutes. Lewington collected the ball on the half-way line, cut inside and progressed on goal before looking up and smacking a left footer from all of 25 yards which flew straight into the top right hand corner of the goal.
And Wilbraham showed his keeping prowess in injury-time to turn over Wetherall's goalbound header and keep the lead intact.
Full-time: MK Dons 2 Bradford City 1
