A frustrating afternoon for the MK Dons saw them completely dominate Chesterfield but fail to bag all three points.
Countless refereeing decisions went against the home side, with what looked like a goal which had crossed the line ruled out and Paul Mitchell very harshly issued two yellow cards which left the Dons a man down in the second half. Danny Wilson was also sent to the stands for his fury at the officiating.
MK Dons boss Danny Wilson opted to name an unchanged starting 11 to the side which drew 1-1 at Walsall last weekend, with Leon Crooks remaining at right back and Gareth Edds at right midfield.
On a bright and sunny Autumn afternoon, the Dons kicked off playing towards the West Stand looking for a third straight win at home.
The Dons were presented with a scoring opportunity on four minutes when Stephen Quinn, pictured right, was felled on the edge of the box by Gareth Davies. Nicky Rizzo stepped up to take the kick, swerving in a left footer which Reuben Hazell had to be alert to head over the bar.
The Dons were doing more of the early attacking, with a succession of corners and crosses into the box, Nicky Rizzo at the heart of the Dons play.
A volley from Gareth Edds on the edge of the box forced a good save from Barry Roche on seven minutes, but the effort would have been ruled out for offside with McLeod in an interfering offside position.
And the striker was not far away on eight minutes with a low shot on the turn from 10 yards out.
On 10 minutes, good attacking play saw the Dons break with pace, Quinn bursting onto the edge of the box before laying the ball off for McLeod, whose cross-shot had Roche beaten but slid the wrong side of his right hand post.
Colin Larkin got into a stray headed backpass from Craig Morgan on 15 minutes, nipping in ahead of Baker, but slotting his shot well wide of the target.
Somehow Chesterfield escaped without conceding on 18 minutes. Nicky Rizzo laid the ball into the path of McLeod, who looked to have been pulled back in the act of shooting, but went onto beat Roche with a shot from a tight angle which came back off the post, and fell to Gareth Edds, bounced off him less than two yards out, but Steve Blatherwick managed to clear off the line with both attackers and defenders looking at the linesman and eventually playing on.
Larkin was not far away with an angled shot from all of 25 yards which Baker had to be watchful of as it flew just high of his crossbar.
The Dons were by far the better side as the half neared the mid-way stage, doing all the attacking and coping well with any stray Chesterfield attacks.
Roche made a wonderful fingertip save to deny Edds' rising shot from 20 yards out, turning the ball over for a corner on 25 minutes, and from the resulting second cross from Rizzo, McLeod headed over the crossbar from close range.
A good ball over the top by Edds to Platt down the right saw the big striker cross for McLeod, who looked to have been fouled in the box by Hazell, but the appeals for a penalty were waved away.
And the next ball into the box from Rizzo saw Platt rise high to head at goal, Roche again tipping over the bar.
Another attack on 28 minutes saw Edds spring the offside trap down the right and centre for Quinn, who hit a shot on the turn which hit the foot of the post and bounced wide.
How the scores remained at 0-0 was anyone's guess as the Dons could easily have been at least three goals to the good at the half-hour mark.
A free-kick from Shane Nicholson which swerved towards the top corner on 43 minutes was Chesterfield's best chance of the half, but Matt Baker reacted well to keep hold of the ball at the second attempt.

Dons boss Danny Wilson made a change at half-time, with Platt withdrawn to be replaced by Aaron Wilbraham.
A mazy run across the edge of the penalty area saw McLeod eventually fouled, presenting the Dons with another brilliant free-kick, right on the edge of the penalty area and central to the goal. Rizzo curled a left footer which beat the wall, came back off the post with Roche beaten and was scrambled to safety by Roche.
Roche was then down to his right to beat away Paul Mitchell's left footed shot from the edge of the area on 51 minutes as the Dons began the second half the way they had played the entire first - dominating the game and camped in the opponent's half.
Chesterfield made a double change on 54 minutes with Kevan Hurst going off for Alex Bailey and Gareth Davies going off for Sammy Clingan.
Good link-up play down the left saw Wilbraham get past his marker and release the ball for Quinn to have a left footed angled drive, but it was straight down the throat of Roche for an easy save on 59 minutes.
Paul Mitchell, pictured left, received a yellow card for kicking the ball away from a Chesterfield free-kick on the hour mark.
McLeod was released on goal by a lovely Mitchell pass on 62 minutes, but the striker's touch was too heavy, allowing Roche out to save at his feet.
A second change from Wilson on 63 minutes saw Nick McKoy sent into the action, with Rizzo making way.
A full-blooded challenge by Lewington on Bailey earned him a yellow card on 66 minutes, even though it looked as though the flame-haired defender had won the ball.
After being second best for the whole of the game so far, Chesterfield were slowly edging their way into the match, managing to bog the game down in the middle of the park.
And Trevor Parkes, who had been very harsh to the Dons throughout the game, then gave Mitchell a second yellow - and subsequent red card in the 70th minute for a trip on Clingan.
Just second slater and Quinn picked up a yellow card for a late tackle on Nicholson which the Chesterfield skipper had certainly made a meal of.
Mark Allott hit the crossbar with an angled drive on 72 minutes, but the Spireites striker had already been flagged for offside and the effort would not have counted.
Derek Niven tried his luck with a right footed volley from a good 30-yards out which Baker had to tip over his bar, more evidence that the visitors were abandoning their previous defensive policy now that they had the benefit of a one-man advantage.
The Dons made a final change on 76 minutes with Quinn leaving the field to a standing ovation, replaced by Gary Smith.
The home fans mistakenly thought that Parkes had given a penalty on 81 minutes when McLeod went down under a challenge on the edge of the box, but he had in fact given a goalkick to the visitors.
After a spell of pressure they had to soak up earlier, it was the Dons who were finishing stronger despite being a man down.
McLeod had a chance on 88 minutes when he went down the left, but instead of shooting opted to turn inside and was robbed of possession at the vital moment.
A final change for Chesterfield in the 89th minute saw Larkin replaced by Adam Smith.
Parkes opted to give Chesterfield a free-kick on the edge of the box in the last minute after Lewington looked to have won the ball fairly off Hall.
That was enough to infuriate Wilson on top of the earlier decisions, and the manager was sent to the stand for the final few minutes as Parkes flexed his muscles even further.
