Last season when MK the Dons played Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield Town back-to-back they were wacked 4-1 by both sides, but this week the Dons picked up two points from their promotion rivals.
Dons boss Karl Robinson believes that shows the progress the side continue to make, yet insists improvements still need to be made. On the back of their 1-1 draw at home to Sheffield Wednesday the men from MK recorded the same score line in an even contest at Huddersfield Town.
On a day when football fixtures across the country were postponed due to freezing temperatures, the game at Galpharm Stadium kept the fight in the top six warm with neither side prepared to surrender all three points.
Reflecting on the game, Robinson felt it was the deserved result for both sides. Speaking in his post-match press conference said: "It is probably a fair result for two very good teams who try and conduct themselves in the right way, from a neutral perspective I think it was a very good spectacle for League 1. You always want to win every game you play, that is the nature of this industry but we walk away with a point and I think a point is fair.

Stephen Gleeson netted a plucky goal to earn a draw |
"I think we have moved on leaps and bounds, we have tremendous strength in depth and great mental strength as well. It's better than last year but it's still not enough, I still want more and we're going to keep searching for more and driving for more success."
The old cliché 'a game of two halves' was the perfect analysis of the game as Huddersfield, who took the lead in the 45th minute through Jamie McCombe's header, were the more dominant side in the first half but it was the Dons who controlled in the second half.
It took a slice of fortune for the Dons to level the score when Stephen Gleeson's over-hit free-kick found the back of the net.
Robinson added: "I don't think he meant it. We do say if you have an inswinger make sure it ends up inside the goal and if we don't get anything on it, it will drop in the net. I don't think he meant to hit it that far or high but we'll take it, it's a fortunate goal but we haven't had many of them this year."

James Tavernier enjoyed a successful Dons debut |
James Tavernier was handed his first start since joining on loan from Newcastle, but it was Alan Smith, making his full debut on the ground of one of Leeds United's fierce rivals, who attracted the most attention.
Robinson said: "He showed how good he is, he won his headers, won his tackles, he gave the ball away once or twice and looked a little bit leggy but he'll get there. He had 45 minutes against Sheffield on Tuesday and a further 65 today, he wasn't meant to play in any of these games, we said we were going to give him a full week's training but he knocked on my door on Monday and said he wanted to play. He's going to get better and better, and the better he gets the better we become as a team.
"Tav came in for his debut to play against Danny Cadamarteri who has been there, seen it, done it and he didn't look out of place. He's quick and strong, and he is also going to get better."
