"At three-all, we wouldn't have gone through without our fans tonight."
That was the reaction of Dons manager Karl Robinson after his Carling Cup heroes pulled off a second round giant killing against Premier League Blackpool.
Substitute Lewis Guy bagged a winner deep into extra-time to settle a thrilling contest at stadiummk, sending Ian Holloway's Seasiders crashing out and the Dons into Saturday's third round draw.
It was just reward for a terrific Dons performance on a memorable night at MK1, which started with a bang as Sam Baldock fired an opener after just 53 seconds.
Brett Ormerod scrambled Blackpool an equalisers shortly after half-time, but Jermaine Easter's quick-fire double had the Tangerines in all sorts of trouble.
Ludovic Sylvestre's free-kick and Charlie Adam's penalty forced extra-time, but the Dons always looked the more likely and Guy settled matters 10 minutes from a penalty shoot-out.
"I'm delighted for the boys," Robinson told the media after the game, "they were fantastic tonight and what pleased me the most was that we dominated a Premier League team for long periods.
"We scored some unbelievable goals that would have graced any ground in the country. When we moved the football quickly we looked a very good side against a team that got out of the escaped one of the toughest leagues in Europe last season. They were a tough test for us tonight and I'm immensely pleased.
"I'm sure tonight will live long in the memory of our fans. At three-all, we wouldn't have got the result without them and I mean that.
"You don't realise how loud it is down there and how much is spurs you on and I'd love our fans to know how it feels. To have people singing for you, knowing you're there fighting for them gives you two or three more gears and that happens at every level.
"Thank you very much, it means an awful lot to the players and now we have to emulate that when games are at nil-nil and not quite going our way."
The Dons now advance to Saturday's third round draw, where the Premier League's European-qualified heavyweights enter the fray.
"I don't care who we get, but the money men would like Manchester United away, live on Sky!
"These competitions mean a lot to clubs like us and we're having a good run, so let's get a nice draw that brings us some money. But we'll be going out to win it whoever it's against."
