Paul Ince expressed his frustration after MK Dons' 3-3 draw at Brentford at the loss of concentration that cost his side two points.
But at the end of a difficult week in the League 1 play-off race, the Dons boss reflected positively on his side's seven-point haul from three games.
Having been mugged by Brentford in a stadiummk smash and grab back in December, the Dons thought they'd snatched a measure of revenge when Aaron Wilbraham's second goal of the afternoon put them into a stoppage time lead at Griffin Park.
But Brentford substitute Carl Cort steered home the Bees' third equaliser of the afternoon on 94 minutes to give Andy Scott's side a share of the spoils.
Ince said: "To lose a goal with the last kick, after what they did to us at our place - we're gutted. When you score in the 92nd minute you think you've got some retribution for that, but we've switched off again.
"Brentford are very good at home, I think they've only lost twice here all season, so to come here, score three goals and not come away with the three points is very disappointing.
"We've seen enough evidence this season of teams scoring last minute goals against us, in those situations you need characters and you need voices.
"When you score in the 92nd minute, your automatic reaction should be to switch on. But we didn't and if Corty doesn't score it the other man does because people haven't done their jobs."
Having seen Wilbraham's 11th-minute opener - his 50th Dons goal - wiped out by Sam Wood's equaliser, Jermaine Easter restored the Dons' lead from the penalty spot after Mark Phillips had pulled back Luke Chadwick in the area.
Ince felt Phillips was fortunate to avoid further punishment and, with 11 men still on the pitch, the Bees levelled once more through striker Ben Strevens.
"I don't like to see anybody sent off, but the lad has to be red carded," Ince said afterwards.
"Chaddy's in on goal and, for me, a yellow card wasn't sufficient. When it's a goalscoring opportunity, he has to be sent off and it changes the course of the game.
"Having said that, we took the lead three times and if you do that you should be coming away with the three points.
"It's been a big ask this week, especially playing the same players Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, but they've put in a great effort and to get seven points out of nine this week isn't such a bad thing."
