Paul Ince hailed his team's "perfect season" after the Dons won the League 2 championship at Bradford City.
Goals from Jude Stirling and Lloyd Dyer in the first half were enough to secure a 2-1 win at the Coral Windows Stadium and equal a Football League record of 18 away wins in a season.
And after adding another piece of silverware to promotion and the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, Ince passed all the praise onto his players.
He said: "For me it's been the perfect season. I couldn't have dreamt we'd have gone to Wembley, won promotion and ended up winning the title.
"But all credit must go to the players, they've been awesome. You make demands of them and they keep coming up trumps.
"Today was a nervy game but if you'd offered me a 2-0 lead with the other team down to 10 men I'd have taken it all day long.
"It was one of those games but I don't care now, we got the three points and we can go and celebrate.
"Bradford did ever so well, especially considering they only had 10 men. They got the ball forward and caused us problems so I had to bring Sean O'Hanlon on.
"Credit to Stuart McCall, he let us use the training ground yesterday, he bought me a bottle of champagne for getting promoted and they gave us the guard of honour before we went out.
"Hopefully next year they'll come up and Stuart will be the one with the champagne all over his head!"
