INCE DELIGHTED FOR PLAYERS
Paul Ince expressed his delight after his MK Dons team delivered his first trophy as a manager with a 2-0 win over Grimsby at Wembley.
Ince's troops triumphed in front of 33,000 travelling Dons supporters in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final, goals from Keith Andrews and Sean O'Hanlon enough to see off the Mariners.
And having graced the famous old stadium so many times as a player, Ince said the experience was a lot different as a boss.
He said: "As a player you can trust your own ability to go out and perform. As a manager, you can prepare your team but you can't affect how they feel about playing in such a magnificent stadium.
"After the event I am delighted to see the lads in the dressing room taking pictures of the trophy and they are memories that no-one can take away from them.
"We have finally created some history for this club, which is what we get rammed down our throats every time we play away from home and this is the start of putting this club on the map.
"It's my first trophy as a manager, but it's been a long hard road. We've played some hard teams to get here but we feel we can be a handful for anybody.
"We created a lot of chances and it was just a case of waiting for one to go in, but we seem to be good at scoring penalties in this competition!"
Paul Ince's post match reaction in full will be availble soon on Dons World.
