INCE: SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE
Dons manager Paul Ince was disappointed his side didn't give themselves a break scoring more than two in the win over Barnet.
First half strikes from Alan Navarro and Lloyd Dyer had put the Dons firmly in control in the opening 20 minutes as the League 2 leaders held on to top spot.
But after Barnet had Michael Leary sent off for an elbow on Dons skipper Keith Andrews, the visitors missed a host of second-half chances to make the result more comfortable.
And with the current pile-up for fixtures, the next coming in the shape of Monday's JPT area final second leg against Swansea, Ince felt the chance to relax would have helped.
He said: "I've had a go at the lads because it was a game where we could have scored seven or eight.
"We missed clear-cut chances and you can't do that, especially against good sides.
"We never gave our back five a chance to rest by taking the chances we created.
"I'm disappointed we didn't score more goals because we ended up having to fight until the last whistle and that takes a lot out of the lads.
"But it's another game gone, it's a clean sheet again and it's two wins on the bounce.
"I thought we looked a bit shaky to start off but we had two great shots and two goals.
"They had a couple of chances but we went up the other end, scored two great goals and the game was more or less over.
"It was the right decision to send the lad off, he deserved to go, it was a stupid challenge.
"We're waiting to find out if Keith has got a broken nose or not so their lad's got his just desserts."
