Deadline day loan signing James Tavernier is in line to make his MK Dons debut this Saturday when Karl Robinson's men travel to Huddersfield Town.
The Newcastle United right-back met up with his new team mate at training on Thursday and joined in with the lively, fast-paced session in the dome at Woughton on the Green. The 20-year-old, who has good experience of League 1 having enjoyed spells at Carlisle and Sheffield Wednesday this season, is expected to make his Dons bow at the Galpharm Stadium having joined too late to feature in their draw against Wednesday in midweek.
Adam Chicksen, back from his Leyton Orient loan, filled in on Tuesday but a head injury forced him off in the 50th minute and has resulted in nine stitches for the youngster.
The Dons have been handed a double boost in the form of Darren Potter back from illness and Mathias Kouo-Doumbe returning from suspension ahead of the big game against a Terriers side currently occupying second place in the League 1 table.

Dons boss Karl Robinson also revealed Paul Slane will make his move to Milton Keynes once he has completed his recovery work at parent club Celtic.
He said: "Paul Slane was one of the hottest properties in Scotland, he then suffered a bad injury but got back fit and was on the bench for one of Celtic's European cup games. In a reserve game he picked up a knock so he'll finish his recovery at Celtic and join up with us in 10 days or so.
"He is lightening quick and can play on the left and right, and I can't wait to see him roaring up and down our wing.
"Tav is someone we looked at in the summer since then he's had rave reviews for his performances at Carlisle and Sheffield Wednesday. We're very happy to have acquired his services, he's quick and strong and he will fit into the way we play."
Huddersfield are six points clear of the Dons, although Robinson's men still have a game in hand, and will be desperate to hang on to the second automatic promotion place after falling at the play-off stage in the previous two seasons.
The Dons still have 19 games to play this season, after two draws and one defeat in their last three games they will be keen to get back to winning ways and three points from Lee Clark's side would be a huge boost to their promotion ambitions.

Robinson believes the Dons have one of their most vital components now Potter is available again.
He said: "Potts is a class act and I've always said that. You always have to have someone in there that can drag, push and pull people, who can talk and retain the ball. He wins his headers, he's strong in a tackle and he's a key cog in our team.
"I want to win the game but so will Lee Clark, he will have his team prepared for a very tough fight and we will make sure that we conduct ourselves in the right way and we will go there with a game plan that will hopefully get us the victory we want.
"Lee Clark has assembled a great squad at Huddersfield and they have been unlucky, their points tally over the past two years would have got them up in any other season and they will be desperate to get into the Championship this time around."
Kallum Higginbotham is poised to make his debut for Huddersfield following his transfer from Falkirk. He could start alongside 29-goal Jordan Rhodes, in place of either Lee Novak or Alan Lee.
Recent loan signing Sean Morrison, from Reading, is expected to continue alongside Jamie McCombe in central defence in his home debut after making his first appearance in last week's draw at Tranmere.
Goalkeeper Alex Smithies is in contention for his comeback match following two knee operations which have kept him sidelined for the last 10 months, during which time Ian Bennett has been manager Clark's first choice.
Midfielder Scott Arfield and defender Calum Woods (both ankle) featured in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Blackburn in midweek and are hoping to return to the squad, but Gary Roberts remains sidelined following his hernia operation and fellow winger Danny Ward is struggling with a knock.
Supporters travelling to the Galpharm are reminded it is an seater stadium. Huddersfield Town do not wish any supporter to jeopardise his or her own safety and that of other people. Both Huddersfield Town and MK Dons request that all supporters respect the terms of the Galpharm sports grounds licence - it is an offence for any spectator to persistently stand in a seated area throughout a game.
