MK DONS SPORT & EDUCATION TRUST

Milton Keynes Dons Sport & Education Trust (formally Football in the Community Scheme) would like to develop the existing programmes and ensure that opportunities in the work programme are developed with new projects that are fun, educational, self financing or opportunities to receive further funding for sustainability.

The three-year development programme will aim to target strategies with the County FA and local authority agendas, addressing such issues as crime reduction healthy lifestyles and the local agenda.

OUR OBJECTIVES

•To provide a positive football and sports experience for boys and girls of all ages to participate, regardless of their ability and social status.

•Create links with MK Dons study support centre to provide children the opportunity to receive coaching and develop their numeracy and literacy skills.

•Involve minority and ethnic groups in social recreational activities for both adults and children.

•To work with the Football Association, Football League clubs and funding partners to co-ordinate the provision of a quality coaching programme in Milton Keynes and the local community catchment area.

•To influence and educate young people throughout Milton Keynes area through school visits by staff and players.

•To provide quality and value for money child care services in a sports setting for children aged four to 14 indoors and out.

•To utilise the game of football and Milton Keynes Dons' facilities, as a vehicle for improvements in education, health and social inclusion.

•To work in partnership with all local football clubs and leagues to increase the opportunities for children and young people to participate in football.

•To provide advice and information to schools and clubs to share best practice and to maximise opportunities to enhance the quality of services and facilities.

•To maximise the funding available for the development of football within the borough and ensuring that the resulting schemes are sustainable.

• To maximise the number and quality of coaches, officials and administrators working through out the catchment area.
