MK DONS DEVELOPMENT CENTRES

Posted on: Thu 20 Nov 2008

Milton Keynes Dons FC Development Centre programme has continued to be a success with local youth football players from in and around Milton Keynes.

Since September 2008, over 200 boys between the ages of six and 15 have been receiving football coaching from professional MK Dons coaches on a weekly basis.

During the October half term school holidays, six of our Development Centre squads travelled to Bedfordshire to play in fixtures against Rushden & Diamonds and Southend United. The players had the opportunity to display the skills and techniques they have been learning in training into these games and all performed to a very high standard.

The Development Centre coaching programme provides boys playing in the age groups Under 7's through to Under 15's a stepping stone to our Academy teams. Players are developing their skills and knowledge of the game each week as they aim to progress as players.

Our Development Programme provides a clear player pathway through to the MK Dons youth squads and provides players with the highest level of coaching. Due to the success of the programme, 26 players who attend one of our centres have experienced Academy football at MK Dons

We provide training for U7's, U8's, U9's, U10's, U11's, U12's, U13's, U14's and U15's at the following three venues - Newport Pagnell, Buckingham and Kingsbrook. At two of our venues we also run specific goalkeeping sessions.

The week commencing Monday December 1 2008 sees the start of a new block of coaching. For more information contact Chris McGuane on 01908 622888 or chris.mcguane@mkdons.com. Alternitavely, click the link for the downloadable leaflet for the Development Programme 2008/09
