As the Football League prepares to show its collective support for Help for Heroes this weekend, one of the campaign's standard bearing fundraisers is hoping to rally further support in his own personal quest.
Dons midfielder Peter Leven pledged to donate £5 to the League's official charity partner for every goal his team score this season and has received incredible backing throughout the campaign from supporters, sponsors and fellow professionals. Through his own contributions and additional donations, Pete's figure at www.justgiving.co.uk/peter-leven has gone well past the £5,000-mark.

Pete's efforts have seen him named in the Football League's Help for Heroes Ambassadors' XI and shortlisted for a Football League Award for his efforts in taking the campaign out in the community.
But the industrious Dons midfielder says raising funds for a deserving cause is far more important to him, particularly in the context of Football for Heroes week.
He told mkdons.com: "I didn't decide to do this to earn recognition from anyone, I just wanted to do my bit for what I feel is a worthy cause. The reaction to it has been better than I ever could have hoped, the support I've had from all sorts of people has been incredible.
"But it's important we keep the momentum going. We're up over £5,000 so far, with Betfair promising to match whatever we can raise, so if we could get to £10,000 and make them double to £20,000 it would be fantastic.

The entire Football League will show its support for Help for Heroes during Football for Heroes week. |
"With it being Football for Heroes Week, the cause will be fresh in people's minds and hopefully we can help matters by banging in a few goals at the weekend."
If you'd like to show your support for Peter you can do just that at www.justgiving.com/peter-leven. Whether you're representing a company, a supporter group or just making a personal contribution, all donations will be gratefully received, no matter how big or small. Make sure you also leave a message of support to spur Pete and the team on for the rest of the season.
You may decide, like Peter himself, to make a donation for every goal the Dons score this season and make regular contributions as you go. You might decide to make a one-off pledge for the season as many have done already. Or you might want to wait to see what the Dons' total is at the end of the campaign before you donate. Whichever way you choose to get involved, make sure you check the Gift Aid box to ensure the tax from your donations will also go to Help for Heroes.
