Dons midfielder Peter Leven and Community Ambassador Paul Mitchell have both been named in the Football League's Help for Heroes Ambassadors Team.

The team, comprising of 12 individuals from across The Football League with connections to the Armed Forces, will help promote The League's the relationship with Help for Heroes - the official charity of The Football League for the 2009/10 season.

As well as Pete and Mitch, the team includes Simon Clegg, Chief Executive of Ipswich Town, Dave Jones, Manager of Cardiff City and AFC Bournemouth striker Lee Bradbury - a former army recruit.

In total, 11 Football League teams are represented, demonstrating the passion and enthusiasm for the charity which aids members of the Armed Forces injured whilst serving their country.

Peter's place in the team comes as a result of his ongoing efforts to support Help for Heroes - the Dons midfielder pledging to donate £5.00 for every goal the Dons score this season to a charity extremely close to his heart.

Mitch, a former Dons captain, has also been busy rallying support for the cause and is set to embark on an 874-mile bike-ride from Land's End to John o'Groats in June to raise money for both Help for Heroes and the MK Dons Sport and Education Trust.

Simon Yeo: The former Lincoln City, Peterborough United and Chester City striker spent time in the forces, seeing action in Bosnia and Northern Ireland during his service with the 22nd Cheshire Regiment in the 1990s.

Simon still holds genuine passion for the forces and splits his time between playing for Conference North side Droylsden FC and raising funds for Help for Heroes through several initiatives such as selling his old shirts and sponsored events.

For his efforts, Simon has been nominated for the 2009 Unsung Heroes Awards.

Simon Clegg: The new Ipswich Town Chief Executive is another ex-squaddie and reached the rank of Major whilst serving around the world with the 7th Parachute Regiment, Royal Horse Artillery.

And already the former Chief Executive of the British Olympic Association and Chef de Mission for Team GB has put his new team through their paces with a two-day boot camp at the Colchester Garrison under the charge of his former unit.

With friends still in active service, Clegg is keen to aid the new partnership in any way possible.

Aaron Mitchell: The Nottingham Forest defender tragically lost his brother Lance Corporal Keiron Hill in May after the 20-year old was killed whilst on duty with the 2nd Battalion, The Mercian Regiment (Worcesters and Foresters) near Garmsir in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

The 19-year old is a strong believer in the courageous work carried out by the forces and knows better than most the need to raise funds for Help for Heroes.Despite his desire to secure a regular spot in Billy Davies' first team, Aaron will stop at nothing to help raise funds for Help for Heroes.

Phil Stant: As both a former professional footballer and SAS Bomb Disposal Expert, Phil has a wealth of experience in both fields.He saw action in the Falklands War including the Argentine air attack on Sir Galahad and Sir Tristram at Fitzroy.

On his return from active service, Phil realised his dream of securing a professional football contract and fired goals for, amongst others, Notts County, Reading, Fulham, Brighton & Hove Albion and Lincoln City.In 2000 he became manager at Lincoln.

Currently Phil is The Football League Regional Officer for the Midlands.

Sergeant Mark Margetts:His Army career spans 18-years and included tours in Northern Ireland and Bosnia and in March 2010 he will be deployed to Afghanistan for the first time with the 1st Battalion

Sergeant Margetts also works part-time as a Community Coach at Doncaster Rovers working with local schools as well as coaching U12 side Sprotbrough and Cusworth Crusaders and refereeing women's football in the local area.

Dave Jones: The Cardiff City manager is patron of the one of the armed forces medical schemes.He was instrumental in inviting the Welsh Guards to attend the club's match against Crystal Palace at the new Cardiff City Stadium in October 2009.

Peter Leven: Our midfield general has pledged season-long support to Help for Heroes beyond his commitment as an Ambassador.The Milton Keynes Dons midfielder is donating £5 to charity for every goal that the club scores during the campaign.

Gary Holt: The former Scottish International midfielder may now be plying his trade at non-league side Lowestoft Town, but he has a raft of experience in The Football League including stints at Norwich City, Wycombe Wanderers and Nottingham Forest.His football career dates back to his spell in the Army Catering Corps when Holt worked as a chef and represented the British Army before joining Celtic.

Lee Bradbury: A former army recruit, the AFC Bournemouth moved straight from the forces to Portsmouth FC in 1995.Since then he has played for a multitude of Football League clubs including Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday.

Joe Roach: AFC Bournemouth's Youth Team and Reserve Team Coach joined the Royal Engineers in 1975 working as an assistant physical training instructor.He transferred into the Army Physical Training Corps in 1980 until 1997 and then took over Army Direct Coaching in the first full-time civilian post in services delivering FA Coaching qualifications to service men and women worldwide.Roach then went on to play and manager the Combined Services football team.

Group Captain Mike Neville: A distinguished career in the Royal Air Force has seen Group Captain Neville posted around the world including spells in the Falkland Islands, Guatemala and Sierra Leone.Group Captain Neville assumed command of RAF Lyneham on 11 December 2007 and has been Chairman of the RAF Football Association since July 2008.

Paul Mitchell: Former MK Dons captain and now Community Ambassador for the club, Mitchell is a strong supporter of Help for Heroes and will embark on an 874-mile bike-ride from Land's End to John o'Groats in June to raise money for both Help for Heroes and the MK Dons Sport and Education Trust.
