Posted on: Wed 29 Oct 2008

The Grand Ballroom at stadiummk hosted its first major event on Thursday night with the 2007 Milton Keynes Chamber of Commerce Business Awards ceremony.

The event, supported by Milton Keynes Partnership and the Citizen and hosted by BBC Breakfast News business presenter Declan Curry, sees a number of top Milton Keynes businesses come together to reward outstanding achievement.

Catagories such as Business Person of the Year, International Trade and the Business Innovation Award were judged by an expert panel consisting of Rita Spada and Paul Lee from MK Chamber of Commerce, Jane Hamilton from English Partnerships and Russell Snowdon from the Independent Banking Consultancy.

Keynote speaker for the evening was former Conservative Chancellor Ken Clarke while Mayor of Milton Keynes Mike Barry, MK Dons Chairman Pete Winkelman and Club Director John Cove were among those in attendance.

After a great deal of hard work from City Renovations to prepare the Ballroom ahead of Thursday night, the event was a huge success with the venue itself drawing widespread praise from those who attended.
