MK Dons Under 18s will play Coventry Sphinx Under 18s in the First Round of the FA Youth Cup after the Midlands side successfully came through qualifying on Thursday night.

The Sphinx overcame Sutton Coldfield Town 3-2 in the Third Qualifying Round to secure a home tie with the young Dons to be played before November 8.

Mike Dove's youngsters will travel to the West Midlands looking to improve on last season's run in the competition, which was ended at this stage by Brighton & Hove Albion in a 4-3 thriller.

The Spinx, whose first team play in the Midland Football Alliance at level nine in the English football league system, have had to come through four games to reach the First Round Proper.
