Trio begin Euro 2016 preparations

25 May 2016

Simon Church and Wales have begun their preparations for Euro 2016, while Lee Hodson and Reeves are getting set for Northern Ireland’s warm-up match against Belarus this Friday.

Church and Co are training in the Algarve this week as they look to get ready for next month’s Championships – the first major tournament Wales have been involved in since 1958.

The MK Dons striker is one of 29 players involved in the camp, which will run until Sunday evening. Also involved are Dons Academy graduate George Williams, now of Fulham, and former loanee Jonny Williams.

Boss Chris Coleman will name his final Euro 2016 side on Tuesday 31st May, two days after the conclusion of the camp, and Church will be hoping to have done enough this week to be included.

Also involved in Euro 2016 preparations this week are Hodson and Reeves, who are with Northern Ireland as they get set for the tournament.

The Northern Irish will take on Belarus in a warm-up match this Friday evening at Windsor Park, which will give the players one final chance to impress manager Michael O’Neill ahead of his squad announcement.

Hodson and Reeves, who were both regular call-ups during the qualification campaign, will be looking to feature and star in the friendly later this week and secure their place on the flight to France.
