The Dons have just wrapped up the first of their two three-day blocks of fitness work in Dublin and manager Karl Robinson says he’s been pleased with the players’ progress.
Robinson’s men have impressed throughout a series of gruelling drills so far with results up on last summer’s efforts.
“It's been a good start to pre-season and the players have been brilliant,” Robinson told MK Dons PlayerHD at the A.U.L Training Complex.
“The intensity of what we're asking for this year has increased because the players know they're going to a different level. They know they need to up their games so we've added things on from previous years and the players have responded wonderfully well.”
He continued: “Our formula for four or five years now has tended to work here because we feel we start the season relatively well.
“It’s a great place to come, in a wonderful country. We like the area, we like the hotel and the facilities are magnificent too. The weather also constitutes what we would like to play in back in the UK.”
