Alex Revell insists he would have swapped Saturday’s penalty save for a winning goal.
In dramatic fashion, the 32-year-old striker denied Joe Garner from the penalty spot and then kept the Lilywhites at bay for the remaining 10 minutes to earn the men from MK1 a point at Deepdale.
“It’s helped the team get a point but I’d have preferred to have scored a goal and got the win,” Revell told MK Dons PlayerHD.
“Or, if we’d have gone and scored a goal at the end then it would have been a much more influential part of the match.
“It’s something to go in the scrapbook, I suppose. For some reason I thought that is where he would go. I went that way, stuck out an arm and luckily made the save.”
“We should have probably scored more goals. The one that Josh (Murphy) put in for me was just a little too quick. I tried to get it but I was just inches away – it’s one of those where if we were flying in the league, it goes off my studs and goes in.”
“We’re disappointed we didn’t go on to get all three points because it would have been what the second half performance deserved.
Saturday’s draw kept the Dons in with a chance of climbing out of the bottom three but Revell admits disappointment at not being able to pick up maximum points.
