Report: Ladies 3-0 Enfield Town

3 December 2014

MK Dons Ladies cruised into the quarter-finals of the FA Women’s Premier League Plate with a 3-0 victory over Enfield Town.

Tony O’Neill’s side took an early lead when Charly Wright beat Enfield’s right-back before slotting past the keeper.

The Dons enjoyed total domination in the first half and they went into the half-time interval without their single goal lead ever really being troubled.

Enfield responded after the break but it was the Dons who went closest to grabbing a crucial second goal of the game and they eventually found it courtesy of Andie Dickens, who headed home a Lauren Goodier cross.

O’Neill’s Ladies then added a third late on when Lisa Nixon was brought down in the box, resulting in a spot kick which was duly converted by Heather McDonnell.

The victory sets up a last eight clash with Huddersfield Town, who beat Chester Le Street in their second round tie.

Starting XI: Kirby, Howes, Doyle, Hollingsworth, McDonnell, Goodier, Nixon, Smith, Wright, Dickens, Watson (Naylor 85).

Unused subs: Hill.
