A youthful Dons Under-18s side drew 1-1 with Dagenham & Redbridge last weekend.
Nombe’s fine finish, a first-time effort into the top-right corner from Peter Kioso’s cross, opened the scoring for the Dons.
However, their lead lasted just nine minutes as the hosts levelled things up through a close-range header from a corner.
The Daggers then fired over as they went in search of completing a first-half turn around before Brandon Thomas-Asante went close to restoring his side’s advantage with a one-on-effort which was saved by the home team’s keeper.
After the break, Dove’s side piled on the pressure and right-back Harry Stratton almost found the target with a right-footed effort from a corner, while Thomas-Asante dragged a shot wide.
The Dons striker also hit the crossbar with a stunning effort late on but neither he nor his teammates could find a winner, meaning they were forced to settle for a point.
